Egypt is without doubt a bucket list country. The Pyramids of Giza are the only remaining ancient wonder of the world. This tour encompasses all the best parts of Egypt and will provide you with an unlimited number of photographic opportunities. From the bustling markets to the incredible ancient sights, from the beauty of the Nile and the White Desert to the bluest of blues, the Red Sea. This is a tour offering great value for money with an experienced team of fixers as Susan leads and organizes a fabulous journey across this must see destination.
The tour commences in Cairo, one of the world’s oldest inhabited cities, a city that will leave you mesmerized. We’ll start our journey at the pyramids and afterwards you’ll visit the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum. The following day we’re off into the Sahara Desert. This particular patch of the Sahara is known as the White Desert due to the high amounts of calcium and quartz in the earth. We’ll visit a local spring and stop for photographic highlights while admiring all the myriad rock formations. Sunset with a bedouin tea and a bbq dinner. We’ll sleep under the stars giving everyone the perfect op to capture the night sky. The next day we head back to Cairo after shooting the sunrise. Next up is an included flight to Luxor, the ancient capital, Thebes. Here we’ll visit the stupendous temples of Luxor, Karnak, Hatshepsut and the Valley of the Kings. Optional activities include a felucca ride on the Nile and a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Nile. After two fantastic days in Luxor we journey to Hurghada and the Red Sea. We’re staying 5 star here at the Hilton Red Sea Resort. We’ll also spend a full day sailing and snorkeling on the Red Sea, great for some underwater photography if that’s your thing as we make our way to Orange Bay for some beach chill time. Next stop, we catch another included domestic flight, this time back to Cairo for some markets and mosque exploration. We visit the very photogenic Khan el Khalili market, and if time permits I will sneak in an extra visit to a very local market, Ataba. We’ll also visit Cairo’s Citadel and the oldest mosque in Africa Ibn Tulun, a rare piece of architecture due to its spiral minaret.
Susan is very well-traveled in the Middle East having been to Egypt on five occasions previously, as well as Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and lived in Turkey for four years. She works with a hand-picked team in Egypt to bring you a comfortable yet adventurous tour that has photography at the forefront, but is also mindful of the need and desire for vacation time. This tour combines both perfectly. So even if you’re not a budding photographer, but you still appreciate nice vacay images and you use your phone for the most part that is quite ok, Susan uses her phone a lot too :).
Join us for this amazing trip to one of the world’s most incredible and awe-inspiring countries.
