Sample Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive at Wilpena Pound
Get settled, meet the group, and enjoy a relaxed dinner. We’ll go over the week’s goals and options based on weather and group interests. Optional night shoot if skies are clear.
Day 2 – Eastern Range Landscapes
Sunrise in the eastern part of the park with a variety of lens options. Watch for wildlife and explore photo techniques throughout the day. Sunset from a scenic lookout. Optional night session.
Day 3 – Wilpena Pound and Beyond
Morning shoot with focus on light and color. We’ll explore deeper into the park, with opportunities for macro and telephoto work. Evening shoot at one of Matthew’s favorite sunset vistas, followed by either editing or star photography.
Day 4 – Northern Ranges
An early start brings us to one of the most remote sunrise spots in the Flinders. We’ll continue to explore the dramatic geology of the region and close the day at Razorback Lookout.
Day 5 – Final Sunrise and Farewell
Enjoy one last shoot with views over Wilpena Pound before breakfast. Depart mid-morning, or stay on for additional activities or rest.

Join Matthew Storer for a 5-day 4 nights in the Flinders Ranges South Australia one of Australia’s iconic and diverse ecosystems teaming with wildlife and stunning vistas and gorges. Throughout our tour, we will photograph the world-famous Wilpena Pound during the stunning golden hour before capturing it under a million and one stars! During the day keep the telephoto lens glued to your camera with wildlife running rampant in this part of the world!
To utilise the conditions available to us, we promise to be on location before the optimal lighting conditions to capture the best possible images. As a result, expect to be photographing golden hour throughout the day and out late to photograph the stellar stars and Milky Way!
Throughout the tour, we will offer post-production procedures and workflow in numerous post-production software and image review sessions. It results in learning the photography process from a different perspective.
