Misty mornings, towering bald cypress draped in fiery moss, still reflections, and wildlife moving through the shadows—it’s a photographer’s paradise. And this year, we’re adding even more adventure. You’ll explore the lake and the town of Uncertain, Texas, by private pontoon boat, mud boat, and golf cart, giving you multiple angles, hidden water trails, and new perspectives that go far beyond the usual workshop routes. This is an all-inclusive, small-group, sunrise-to-sunset photography experience with home-cooked meals, personalized instruction, and access to some of the most iconic scenery in the South.

You’ll explore the lake and the town of Uncertain, Texas, by private pontoon boat, mud boat, and golf cart, giving you multiple angles, hidden water trails, and new perspectives that go far beyond the usual workshop routes.


This is an all-inclusive, small-group, sunrise-to-sunset photography experience with home-cooked meals, personalized instruction, and access to some of the most iconic scenery in the South.


What’s New for 2026?

➤ Mud Boat Expeditions (AM + PM)

Navigate narrow, photogenic channels deep inside the swamp—places the big boats can’t access.


➤ Sunset & Night-Sky Sessions

The golden hour, silhouettes, stars, and dock reflections are built into the schedule.


➤ Private Pontoon Boat Rides (AM + PM)

Your captain knows all the best spots for capturing pockets of light, observing weather patterns, and photographing wildlife.


➤ Optional Kayaking Exploration (Midday)

Kayaks are available midday for those wanting to explore independently.


Kayaking is optional and depends on availability and weather.


We will have a golf cart that will seat 5–7 people to explore midday.

We will split into 2 groups so each instructor will have max. 5 students.


Our groups will rotate between the mud boat and the pontoon boat.

I will be offered to help participants feel confident and prepared before heading into the field. This tour is ideal for beginning to intermediate photographers, and birders are welcome. No pressure and no experience required.


Loaner Equipment

Canon DSLR cameras and lenses—including the Sigma 100–400mm and Sigma 60–600mm—will be available, with mirrorless adapters if needed.

This tour is suitable for both beginner and intermediate photographers, and birders are welcome. There’s no prior experience required.
