In 2027, we return to Death Valley National Park, where the diverse landscape provides an ideal environment for learning to see beyond color. Black-and-white photography is more than converting a color image or using a filter to rescue a photograph that is not working. It begins in the field—with the intention of creating in black and white. You will learn how to photograph the light, recognize the tones, textures, shapes, and contrasts that create compelling images, and bring your vision to life through thoughtful processing techniques. This immersive workshop is creative, challenging, fun, and deeply rewarding.
